How will the construction of Brookside effect the fire risk to neighboring homes?
No part of the Brookside site is designated as “high risk” in the fire zone maps released in 2025 by the State Fire Marshall. Construction of Brookside will improve access to the property by fire fighters and will provide them with additional fire hydrants, improving their ability to extinguish fires on and around the site. That, along with the current building code’s provisions requiring homes to meet high fire resistance standards, means that Brookside will pose less wildfire risk than the site poses in its current condition.
