FAQ
You’ve got questions, we have answers.
Will construction of Brookside worsen flooding at La Puente Road next to the site?
No. The Brookside plan includes two runoff detention basins, into which runoff from the developed areas of Brookside will be diverted before it can enter Lemon Creek. These basins are designed to assure that even in a 100-year storm event, the peak flow rate of Lemon Creek will not increase due to runoff from the Brookside development.
In these two basins, runoff from the developed portion of the site will be naturally treated to remove urban contamination (pet waste, fertilizers, etc.) before being slowly released after the storm peak has passed. Because the project’s runoff will be held in the detention basins until after a storm’s peak flow rate has passed, building Brookside will not worsen offsite flooding conditions.
