In fact, by building the homes away from the creek on land formerly developed for equestrian center use, replacing many non-native trees with California native trees, and managing and cleaning runoff from the project, Brookside is designed to improve the creek and its adjoining riparian and woodland habitats. Permanent easements will protect these parts of the property, and open space within private lots will be deed-restricted to permanently prohibit owners from building on it, fencing it, or using it.
